Hasle developed from around the year 1500 into an enterprising fishing and agricultural town with an important secondary income in the form of liquor brewing. Later, Hasle received good income from large deposits of clay in Hasle's subsoil, which today have become beautiful lakes with a rich wildlife. You live right next to one of these lakes, namely the beautiful Rubinsøen.
 
In addition to being an atmospheric town with a beautiful beach, Hasle offers, among other things, exciting art exhibitions, a cozy harbor environment with harbor bath and sauna and a nostalgic herring smokehouse. The herring smokehouse also functions as a living museum that shows the development of herring smoking through the ages.
